Ym mis Gorffennaf, mi esi gyda fy nghariad â 4 o’n ffrindiau i Budapest, un o safle treftadaeth y byd UNESCO. Pwrpas y trip oedd mynychu penwythnos y Formula 1 yn yr Hungaroring, ond cyn hyn, cawsom 3 diwrnod yn anturieithu o amgylch y ddinas…

Ar ôl cyrraedd ein fflat am 10:30yh, aethom yn syth allan i grwydro’r ardal ac i gael wbath i fwyta. Cawsom Pizza Me, math o fwyty cadwyn tecawê tebyg i Pizza Hut, jest neisiach. Fel y bod, roedd yr wythnos hon yn dda i ymweld â’r ddinas, yng nghanol tywydd poeth (berwedig o boeth)! Hyd yn oed am 11yh, roedd hi’n chwilboeth felly cawsom hufen iâ fel pwdin i drio cwlio lawr.

Gesi drafferth cysgu drwy’r wythnos… oni fyny bob bora am tua 5yb ac yn tacluso â darllen yn y gegin am tua tair awr wrth ddisgwyl i’r hogia godi fesul un. Ar ein bore cyntaf, esi a Joe i nôl brecwast – pain au chocolat a croissants o becws 2 funud i ffwrdd o’r fflat. Am 10:30 cafodd yr hogia brecwast arall, a finnau lemonêd. Roedd y tymheredd yn chwilboeth, a dim awel i helpu’r sefyllfa. Ar ôl treulio oriau yn crwydro’r ddinas, cawsom gysgod mewn bwyty prydferth, Mazel Tov lle cefais y risotto gora erioed, dwi dal yn meddwl amdano fo rŵan… Erbyn 4yh roedd y 6 ohonom wedi blino’n llwyr ac yn ysu i fynd adra i gal cawod a nap, cyn mynd yn ôl i’r lle pizza (PizzaMe) am de eto!

Ein hail ddiwrnod ym Mudapest, a threuliom ein bore ar ochr arall yr afon Danube, sef Buda. Wedyn aethom yn ôl i Pest ar gyfer cinio cyn i’r hogia dreulio dwy awr yn cartio mewn canolfan siopa ychydig tu allan i ganol y ddinas – Flash Kart. Mi oni fod i gymryd rhan hefyd, ond oni’n nacyrd ar ôl noson wael arall o gwsg â’r holl gerdded. Gyda’r nos es i a Joe am fwyd ar ben ein hunain, i gael amser i ffwrdd o’r hogia – o’r diwedd! Cawsom fwyd bendigedig Groegaidd yn nhaverna Dionysos ger yr afon. Eto, oedd y bwyd yn anfarwol, cefais gyros cyw iâr, fy ffefryn, a ffrwytha efo hufen â sorbêt i bwdin.

Ar ein diwrnod olaf yn y ddinas cyn ein penwythnos llawn o Formula 1, aeth 4 ohonom ar daith ar hyd yr afon, cysgodd y ddau arall i mewn a methu’r gwch! Roedd y daith yn araf, ag oedd yr hogia wedi diflasu braidd, ond nesi joio edrych allan ar yr afon â’r adeiladau prydferth wrth wrando ar y guided tour trwy fy nghlustffonau. Ar ôl cinio hwyr, penderfynodd 2 ohonom gael tatŵ a fuom drost dwy awr yn y parlwr! I fod yn onest, dylwn wedi cymeryd cyngor fy hun a heb gael tatŵ yn yr haul berwedig tra ar wyliau, ond, dyna ni!! Dwi’n meddwl hefyd, bod yna ffyrdd eraill/gwell o dreulio’ch amser dramor… Ar ein ffordd adra, picio i mewn i’r neuadd farchnad a oedd fwy neu lai ar ein stryd am ffrwythau ffres gyda siocled wedi toddi, perffaith.

Roedd y tridiau nesaf yn yr Hungaroring ar gyfer yr F1 yn anghygoel! Darllennwch am fy amser yno yn fan hyn – Hungaroring, 2024.
Am ein horiau olaf ym Mudapest naethon gerdded amgylch dipyn mwy a phenderfynom wneud Ystafell Dianc (Escape Room) i wastraffu amser wrth ddisgwyl am ein tacsi yn ôl i’r maes awyr. (Oedd hi’n rhy boeth i gerdded trwy’r dydd ag oedd rhaid nôl ein bagiau cyn gadael.) Roedd yr ystafell dianc yn well na unrhywun welais o’r blaen, ac er bod un o’r hogia wedi blino a ddim yn llawer o help… rhywsut llwyddom i ddianc o fewn yr amser a rhoddid! Diolch byth.

Ac yna roedd ein hwythnos o grwydro wedi dod i ben. Oherwydd maint ein grŵp, roedd yn anodd gwneud popeth ar fy rhestr, felly byddwn wrth fy modd o ymweld â’r ddinas eto yn y dyfodol. Diolch yn fawr am amser gwych, Budapest.

In July, I went with my boyfriend and 4 of our friends to Budapest, a UNESCO world heritage site. The purpose of the trip was to attend the Formula 1 weekend at the Hungaroring, but before this, we had 3 days of exploring to do around the city.

After arriving at our flat at 10:30pm, we went straight out to explore the area and have a quick bite to eat. We had Pizza Me, a type of takeaway chain restaurant similar to Pizza Hut, only nicer. As it was, the time was good to visit the city, in the middle of summer during a heatwave, it may have been a little too hot…but after the summer we’ve had in the UK, I really can’t complain! Even at 11pm, it was still scorching hot so we had ice cream for dessert to try and cool down.

I had trouble sleeping all week… I was up every morning at around 5am and tidying up and reading in the kitchen for around three hours while waiting for the boys to get up one by one. On our first morning, Joe and I went to get breakfast – pain au chocolat and croissants from a bakery 2 minutes away from the flat. At 10:30 the boys had another breakfast, and I had lemonade. It was boiling hot, and there was no breeze to help the situation. After spending hours wandering the city, we found shelter in a beautiful restaurant, Mazel Tov where I had the best risotto ever, I’m still thinking about it now… By 4pm the 6 of us were completely knackered and desperate to go home to shower and nap, before going back to the pizza place (PizzaMe) for food again!

Our second day in Budapest, and we spent our morning on the other side of the river Danube, Buda. We then went back to Pest for lunch before the lads spent two hours go-karting in a shopping centre just outside the city centre – Flash Kart. I was supposed to take part as well, but I was too tired between another bad night’s sleep and all the walking. In the evening Joe and I went for a meal on our own, to have time away from the boys – finally! We had wonderful Greek food at Dionysos Taverna by the river. Again, the food was amazing, I had chicken gyros, my favourite, and fruit with cream and sorbet for dessert.

On our last day in the city before our full weekend of Formula 1, 4 of us went on a trip along the river, the other two slept in and missed the boat! The journey was slow, and the boys were bored stiff, but I enjoyed looking out at the river with the beautiful buildings while listening to the guided tour through my headphones. After a late lunch, 2 of us decided to get a tattoo and we spent over two hours in the parlour! To be honest, I should have taken my own advice and not gotten a tattoo in the boiling sun while on holiday, but here we are!! I also think that there are other/better ways to spend your time abroad… On our way home, we popped into the market hall which was more or less on our street for fresh fruit with melted chocolate, perfect.

The next three days at Hungaroring for the F1 was amazing! Read about my time at the track here – Hungaroring, 2024.
During our last few hours in Budapest, we walked around some more and decided to do an Escape Room to waste time while waiting for our taxi back to the airport. (It was too hot to walk all day and we had to retrieve our bags before leaving.) The escape room was better than any I had seen before, and although one of the boys was tired and not a lot of help…we somehow managed to escape within the given time! Thank God.

And then our week of wandering was over. Due to the size of our group, it was difficult to do everything on my list, so I would love to visit the city again in the future. Thank you very much for a great time, Budapest.
